CIEMAT: Centro de Investigaciones Energéticas Medioambientales y Tecnológicas, Spain

CIEMAT: the Spanish national research center of Energy, Environment and Technology. Its research covers a large number of topics on different sources of energy and their impact on the environment. CIEMAT has participated on the R&D on advance fuel cycles, partitioning and transmutation and the use of ADS for nuclear wastes transmutation from 1993, has contributed to eight projects of the FP5 and in the FP6 participates on EUROPART, EUROTRANS and Red-Impact. CIEMAT has also contributed to several NEA/OCDE and IAEA related studies and was one of the members of the TWG for the European Roadmap for ADS.

Francisco Martín-Fuertes , got his Industrial Engineer degree, Energy Branch, at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, UPM (1990), and his PhD degree in the same University, Nuclear Engineering Department (1998). He got industrial experience working at ‘Empresa Nacional del Uranio, SA’, Spain, 1991 (PWR thermalhydraulics core design). He was researcher in Nuclear Safety from 1992 to 2006 (Severe Accidents evaluations in LWR: core degradation, containment response, source term estimations). He was Professor in UPM, Nuclear Engineering Department, from 1995 to 2006 (Nuclear Technology, Radiation Protection, Energy Sources). He is CIEMAT staff since 2007 (Fission Innovative Systems).
